R. Stephen Cheheyl
Bay Networks (Retired) - Executive Vice President of Business Operations

R. Stephen Cheheyl is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the computer and data communications industries. His career includes companies ranging in size from start-ups to multi-national corporations with over $6 billion in revenue.

Since retiring as Executive Vice President of Business Operations of Bay Networks, a then $2 billion data networking company formed through the merger of Wellfleet and Synoptics Communications, he has continued to be active as a private investor, board member, CEO mentor and new business start-up coach. He is also an occasional consultant in the areas of technology, M&A and corporate strategy. He has served on the boards of private and public companies, including several which became public during his tenure. As a consultant, he has represented sellers in over twenty completed merger transactions with a value of over $2 billion.

 

Peter Chun
Morgan Stanley Venture Partners

Pete Chung, a Managing Member of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners funds with a focus on technology investments, joined Morgan Stanley in 1993 in the Technology Corporate Finance Department and helped open Morgan Stanley’s first Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park in 1994.  In addition to his service at VBrick, Mr. Chung currently serves as a Director of Core Security, iRise, Plateau Systems and Sendmail.  Over his career, Mr. Chung has been involved in over 30 investments on behalf of Morgan Stanley with his current and prior portfolio responsibilities including companies such as Avamar, Constant Contact (CTCT), InterNAP (INAP), LoopNet (LOOP), Perceptive Software, Tarari, and Zappos.

William A. Frezza
Adams Capital Management - General Partner

Bill Frezza joined Adams Capital Management in 1997 as a General Partner after a twenty year career in the telecom and semiconductor industries. Prior to joining Adams he was Founder and President of Wireless Computing Associates, providing technology and strategic consulting services to leading industry vendors. Mr. Frezza also served as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Ericsson, Inc.'s wireless data division and has extensive engineering and product management experience from General Instrument Corp. and Bell Laboratories. He has been involved in several start-up ventures, holds seven patents, was a regular columnist for Network Computing Magazine and InternetWeek, and served as a Director of the Materials Research Society (MRS). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of AmberWave Systems, BioLeap, LiquidPiston, and Optellios.

Vince Graziani
Sand 9 - CEO

Vince Graziani brings nearly 25 years of demonstrated success increasing companies’ market share and managing product introductions in the networking and telecommunications industry through senior management positions with Broadcom Corporation, Intel and Siemens.  Formerly CEO at VBrick Systems, he is currently CEO of Sand 9, which develops products based on high performance MEMS resonator technology.  Previously, he was the president and CEO of Sandburst Corporation where he established Sandburst’s strategic product direction, oversaw product introductions, and raised four rounds of venture financing leading to the successful acquisition of the company by Broadcom Corporation. Additionally, he served as Senior Director, Business Development and Strategic Alliances at Broadcom Corporation and has held senior management positions at Intel and Siemens.

 

Richard L. Harris
RedShift Ventures - General Partner & Founder

Richard Harris led the creation of RedShift Ventures in 2006 and serves on the Board of Directors of several RedShift portfolio companies including Nextreme Thermal Solutions, Novariant, TerraGo, and VBrick. He has also worked with a number of successful technology companies including Cronos Integrated Microsystems (acquired by JDS Uniphase), MDLinx (acquired by a division of Sony), Woodwind Communications (acquired by Vina Technologies) and Telarix (acquired by Brown Brothers Harriman).

An active member of the mid-Atlantic entrepreneurial community, Mr. Harris currently serves on the advisory boards of the University of Maryland's Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and MTECH Ventures. He is a former board member of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA), and a founder and past Chairman of the Young Atlantic Venture Association. Rich is a frequent lecturer at University of Maryland , where he was formerly a Clinical Professor for the R.H. Smith School of Business.

Doug Howard
VBrick Systems - CEO

As CEO of VBrick, Doug Howard brings over 20 years experience in business development, M&A, operations, engineering, marketing, sales and executive leadership to his chief executive role at VBrick. Prior to joining VBrick, Mr. Howard served as Chief Strategy Officer of Perimeter eSecurity and President of USA.NET, a wholly owned subsidiary of Perimeter. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of BT Counterpane and Vice President of Security and Business Continuity at AT&T Corp., where he developed and launched new services for each of the company's business lines of service.

Mr. Howard founded Technology Research International, Inc. in 1989, which was purchased by NBC Broadcasting in 1991. His impressive business track record and industry thought leader status have earned him accolades from top analyst firms including Gartner, Frost & Sullivan and The Radicati Group.
